Work orders waiting on parts in Lightspeed Retail

Which jobs are stuck, and whether the part is already on a shelf somewhere.

In Lightspeed

Work orders have four default statuses, Open, Estimate, Waiting, and Finished, and a shop can add its own under Settings, Custom Statuses, such as one for jobs waiting on parts. Work orders are searched by customer, line item, or serial number (Lightspeed’s guide). To see which waiting jobs could go ahead, you open each one and look up each part’s stock at each store.

With Tally

Ask “Is any job held up for a part we’ve got on a shelf somewhere?” You get the jobs in a status that reads as waiting on parts, each with the parts on its ticket, the count of each at that store, and which other stores have it.

It also lists the jobs still to do that aren’t in a waiting status but have a part that isn’t in stock at their store.

Then follow up: “Just Northgate,” or “Which of those are past their due date?”

Try it

Ask the demo shop on the home page: “Which jobs are stuck waiting on parts?” The shop and its numbers are made up.

Tally works with Claude or ChatGPT, for $59 a month for the first store and $29 for each one after. Set up your shop
