Who we are
Tally is operated by Backspin Labs, LLC ("we"). Contact: support@backspinlabs.com.
What we collect
- Shop data you connect. When a shop connects its point-of-sale account, we copy its stores, items, stock levels, categories, brands, vendors, employees' names, customers (names, contact details, and city), sales and sale lines, and work orders. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
- Account data. The names, email addresses, roles, and sign-in times of people the shop adds.
- Activity. A log of which tools were used, by whom, when, and with what filters, kept so the shop can see how its data is accessed.
How we use it
Only to provide the service to the shop that connected it: answering questions the shop's own team asks through the AI assistant they connect. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or combine one shop's data with another's. We do not use shop data to train AI models.
AI assistants
When someone at the shop asks a question, the answer data is returned to the AI assistant they chose (for example Claude or ChatGPT) under that provider's terms and the shop's account settings with that provider.
Retention
By default we keep 60 days of sales history. A shop owner can authorize longer retention in Settings. When a shop disconnects or cancels, we delete its copied data within 30 days (immediately when the owner uses "Disconnect and delete"). Encrypted backups roll off within 6 months.
Security
Each shop's data is isolated at the database level, connection tokens are encrypted at rest, access is read-only, and the service is hosted in the United States.
Your choices
Shop owners can remove people, revoke connected AI apps, limit who sees costs and customer details, and delete all copied data at any time. Customers of a shop should contact that shop about their records.
