Find dead stock in Lightspeed Retail

Which items are on the shelf and haven’t sold in six months, and how much money is in them.

In Lightspeed

Lightspeed Analytics has a Dusty stock report, which shows the age of your inventory with a focus on old, low-selling stock (Lightspeed’s guide). To narrow it to one store or one vendor, you set the report’s filters and run it again (filters).

With Tally

Ask “What’s been here 180 days without one sale?” You get the items in stock with no sale in that time: on hand, price, when each last sold, and what the stock cost, largest first, with the total. Costs show only for people allowed to see them.

Then follow up in your own words: “Just Harbor,” “Total it by brand for the rep visit,” or “Make it a year.”

Or ask how much of your stock hasn’t sold in over a year. You get stock on hand by how long since it last sold at each store, from 30 days or less to over a year, by store and category.

Try it

Ask the demo shop on the home page: “Where is money tied up in old stock?” The shop and its numbers are made up.

Tally works with Claude or ChatGPT, for $59 a month for the first store and $29 for each one after. Set up your shop
